Homework Expectations

The children in Waterbirds will be given their homework every Friday and it is to be handed in on the following Thursday. 

Maths

Children are expected to complete their set maths tasks on either TT Rock Stars or Freckle each week. We encourage the children to spend at least 15 minutes on TT Rock Stars in order to rehearse and will allow time for this during the school week as well.

Reading

Children are expected to read at least 4 times a week. We will use Accelerated Reader to ensure children are selecting books appropriate to their reading ability and will monitor the books they have read and their understanding through this online system. Children will be rewarded stickers upon completion of quizzes.

Literacy/Spelling

Children are expected to complete their set SPaG and spelling tasks on SpellingShed. The children will learn spelling rules each week but we will also practise the Year 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 word list that can be found below. 

PE 

Kingfishers - Tuesday             Swans - Tuesday              Sandpipers - Friday 

Children will need to keep a pair of trainers in school throughout the week not just on their PE days. This is because children now complete The Golden Mile everyday. 

Please ensure that your child has outdoor shoes in school everyday. 

Kit for PE: White t-shirt/house t-shirt/house hoodie, black joggers/black leggings/black shorts, trainers/pumps
