Keeping the children safe on line is hugely important to us. We aim to work in partnership with parents to protect the children online and to educate them about how to keep themselves safe.

School computers are protected by Cheshire East's filtering system which goes a long way towards protecting the children from inapporpriate content. Filters are never a 100% guarantee however, and all the children are taught to use the internet responsibly and to report any content that they find inappropriate or uncomfortable at once.

We ask parents to support this at home and recommend that alongside talking to the children about using the internet safely and responsibly, home computers are protected using an appropriate filter.

In addition to an ongoing ethos of responsible and safe internet use, we also run a range of annual events to raise the profile of Internet safety, including talks for older children about cyber bullying by our PCSO and whole school competitions.

Keeping your child safe at home

We recommend that:

  • parental controls are used on all home computers
  • children are not allowed to watch films or tv shows rated beyond their age
  • children are not allowed to play video games rated beyond their age or allowed to watch other people playing them
  • children do not use social media sites with age recommendations beyond their age
