Kingfishers News 30-11-18

This week, Kingfishers have been learning all about the properties of 3D shapes along with new vocabulary such as faces and edges. The children really enjoyed hunting for cylinders, cubes, cuboids, square-based pyramids and other shapes around the school before making them with modelling materials. In Literacy we have been writing instructions for making a potion called ‘Draught of Peace’. Our ingredients included Unicorn tears, Patronus dust, Griffin blood and Basalisk Eyeballs- Disgusting! The children included Imperative verbs, adverbs, conjunctions and adjectives to ensure that their instructions were detailed and interesting for the reader. Also this week, Kingfishers have joined Swans and Sandpipers to practice for their Yule Ball. They have designed snowflakes do decorate the hall and have been working very hard to practice the songs to entertain parents next week. Kingfishers are excited for this event next Thursday evening and Friday afternoon.
